What if changing the course of ocean conservation started with a simple interaction?
The ocean plays a massive role in the health of our planet, yet it can often feel distant from our everyday lives. Planet Ocean was created to help bridge that gap.
The Balean Foundation has partnered with creator Quirine Zonneveld to bring you Planet Ocean: an interactive digital experience that makes ocean awareness engaging, accessible, and inspiring.
Designed to be adapted to different audiences and settings, Planet Ocean can bring people together in schools, companies, teams, events, and organizations for an engaging journey through the ocean and the challenges it faces.
By combining large-screen visual storytelling with real-time audience interaction, participants don't just watch—they take part in the story, make choices, discover new perspectives, and explore how they can contribute to positive change.

How the Experience Works
Facilitated live on a big screen, Planet Ocean takes participants on a step-by-step journey. Using their phones, they interact directly with the content through prior-knowledge quizzes, choices that shape the story, and actionable insights.
The experience unfolds in three powerful phases:
The Broad Perspective: Starting from space, participants discover how deeply the ocean is connected to our everyday lives and the health of our planet.
The Deep Dive: Going beneath the surface, the audience explores some of the ecological challenges affecting our ocean today.
The Solutions: Moving from challenges to possibilities, participants discover real-world solutions and explore tangible ways to create positive impact.
Whether you're introducing students to ocean conservation, bringing a team together around sustainability, or engaging an audience at an event, Planet Ocean can be adapted to meet different groups and contexts.
