Happy to share you a quick look at what’s happening behind the scenes as we build the Balean platform: A place to connect conservation work with a wider audience and support system.
🌊 Progress So Far
We’ve been busy ! and here’s what we’ve accomplished together so far:
🐠 11 Ocean Heroes on Board
Our Early Adopter Program is growing fast, with 11 amazing ocean-focused organizations already on board, co-creating and shaping the platform from the ground up.

🎤 EAP Ocean Storytelling Workshops
In partnership with Pisces RPM and Intractive, we kicked off our Ocean Storytelling Workshops back in April, and we’re seeing the first results! These sessions help participants craft compelling stories that inspire action and connect deeply with their audiences. Each participant will have their project on the Balean platform in the best way possible!
📝 First PR & Content Plans in Motion
We’ve launched our first PR and content initiatives (including a beach-photoshoot), and it’s wonderful to see the creativity, participation, and energy that’s flowing in. It’s all coming together. And this is just the beginning!
👋 Our Team is Growing!
The Balean team is expanding with a group of passionate and skilled volunteers!
We’re excited to welcome Dana Mena and Melisa Rodriguez, who are jumping in to support communication, PR, and marketing efforts 🙂
And from the world of data analytics, we’ve recently started collaborating with Collen Kriel, expanding our digital strategy. 📊

EAP Workshop
🎙️ We launched our first Podcast!
Our co-founder Bart Oor joined Andrew Lewin on the How to Protect the Ocean podcast to share Balean’s mission and how we’re building bridges in the ocean conservation space.
Conservation isn’t a solo mission, it thrives when people with different experiences and perspectives come together. Balean is helping independent changemakers find the support and community they need to make a real impact.
